A 19-year-old student from Mayem tragically died while being treated at the Goa Medical College after sustaining serious injuries in a road accident at Sirsaim.
The incident occurred near Zarapkar petrol pump on the railway bridge at Sirsaim, where Sainika Mone, a student of Vidya Prabodhini College Porvorim, was riding pillion on a scooter driven by her friend.
They were traveling from Sirsaim to Bicholim when their scooter collided with an oncoming car. The Colvale police have filed a case against the scooter rider.
