The Department of Homes (General) Secretariat has notified that, in accordance with the Government of India’s directive, a two-minute silence will be observed at 11am on January 30th nationwide to honor those who sacrificed their lives during India’s freedom struggle.
Standard instructions include the cessation of work and movement for two minutes, with the suggestion to mark the start and end of the silence with the sound of a siren or Army guns.
Sirens should be sounded from 10:59 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by an all-clear signal from 11:02 a.m. to 11:03 a.m., where applicable.
