The sessions court in Panaji has granted interim relief to the girl from Mapusa who allegedly made offensive comments about the homkand of Shree Lairai Devi, sparking public outrage and hurting the sentiments of devotees.
The court has directed the police not to arrest the girl. This decision comes after devotees of Lairai Devi issued an ultimatum to the Mapusa police, demanding the girl’s arrest or threatening to stage a protest.
