Calangute police have apprehended two suspects, Nikhil Raje from Pune and Aaquib alias Aman Shaukat Khalfe from Ratnagiri, for allegedly strangling 64-year-old Deodita Fernandes to death in her Naikawaddo flat. The crime, believed to be motivated by a money dispute related to her Calangute property, led to the suspects transferring funds from the victim’s account. They were arrested while withdrawing money from an ATM in Anjuna. The victim’s mobile phone and purse were missing from the crime scene.
