Gautam Subhash Asnotkar (24) was arrested by Agassaim police on charges of cheating amounting to Rs 6 lakh, promising a government job.
The accused, residing in Baman Bhat, Merces, allegedly convinced his father to pay the sum, assuring a government job for his son. After receiving the payment through various cheques, the accused reportedly avoided the complainant and refused to refund the amount.
Threats were allegedly made when the complainant sought a refund. The accused was apprehended in Curchorem and faces charges under IPC sections 420 and 506.
