Anjuna Resident Gets 30-Day Jail for Assault on Policewoman

Ravi Harmalkar, a resident of Anjuna, was sentenced to 30 days of simple imprisonment by the Mapusa court for insulting the modesty of a female police officer at O’Coqueiro junction. 

The incident unfolded when the lady officer, in the course of her duties, stopped Ravi’s vehicle. Subsequently, Ravi exited his car and confronted her in a violent manner, using derogatory language in the process.

The court also mandated Ravi to pay a fine of Rs. 5000 and Rs. 5000 in compensation to the complainant.
