Following heavy rainfall in its catchment area, the Anjunem dam’s water level reached 90m, prompting the Water Resources Department to open all four gates for release. Although most of Goa’s dams are already full, the Anjunem dam, completed in 1989 across the Costi or Gulle nalla, serves as a vital source of drinking and irrigation water for Bicholim and Sattari, with a capacity of 93.2m.
