Parents and residents of Balli marched to the Cuncolim police station, demanding action following the assault of a girl child by fellow students at a local school. They called for the suspension of the headmistress and class teacher, accusing them of neglecting the victim’s care after the incident. The protesters also sought the suspension of the Lady PSI, citing a lack of seriousness in the investigation and expressing frustration over the seven-day delay in registering a First Information Report (FIR) against the class teacher under the Goa Children’s Act. South Goa Superintendent of Police Sunita Sawant arrived at the scene as the protesters remained steadfast in their demands for accountability.
