A tragedy was averted at the Sangod Utsav in Cumbharjua on Friday when a boat capsized. All occupants were quickly rescued by locals and other participants. The festival, held annually alongside Ganesh idol immersions, saw nearly 20 decorated canoes. The incident occurred during the final round of the event, with about 15 people falling into the water. The Opposition Congress criticized the BJP government for not deploying lifeguards.
