The cabinet has granted approval for the establishment of a private medical college at SGDH (South Goa District Hospital) by June of the following year. This decision signals a significant step towards expanding healthcare and educational infrastructure in the region. 

Additionally, the government has pledged to reserve a certain quota of seats specifically for Goan students, ensuring local access to medical education opportunities.
