Chief Minister Pramod Sawant successfully intervened to resolve the ongoing dispute between the sand transport associations of Goa and Maharashtra. The disagreement had led to a severe shortage of construction-grade sand in Goa. MLAs Jeet Arolkar and Nilesh Rane from Maharashtra attended a joint meeting at the chief minister’s official residence, and a ceasefire was mediated, allowing the resumption of sand transportation between the two states. The dispute, which lasted for two months, was primarily over the types of vehicles permitted for sand transportation.
