In a recent address, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant recommended that schools prioritize educational trips to science institutions like the Science Centre, NIO-CSIR, and the Polar Institute to foster a deeper interest in science among students. 

He emphasized the importance of exposing students to scientific advancements rather than organizing picnics to popular tourist destinations like Baga and Calangute beaches. 

Sawant highlighted that a mere 2% of Goa’s students pursue their Ph.D. through such scientific institutes, encouraging a shift toward science-centric educational experiences.
