Around 100 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) were targeted with bomb threat emails early on Wednesday. These threats, received around 4 am on official school email IDs, have prompted investigations to trace their origin, with suspicions pointing towards Russia. Similar threats were reported at airports in the past two days and hospitals on Monday, prompting central agencies to join the probe.
As a precautionary measure, schools impacted by the threats have shut down for the day. Students have been promptly sent home, and arrangements have been made for private commuters to collect their children.
