Devotees of Devi Lairai marched to the Bicholim police station, meeting with Bicholim PI Rahul Naik, demanding action against Shreya Dhargalkar and her accomplice for making derogatory comments about the devotees of Devi Lairai and the Dhond community. 

Shreya Dhargalkar was arrested by Cuncolim police on Sunday for defaming and hurting the religious sentiments of the mahajans of Shri Shantadurga Kunkalikarin in a social media post. The protest was supported by Mayem MLA Premendra Shet and Bicholim MLA Dr. Chandrakant Shetye, who accompanied the devotees to the police station.
