Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announces that Environmental Clearance (EC) for sand extraction in Zuari, Mandovi, and Chapora rivers will be issued within a month. The extraction will be allowed only through the ‘Traditional method.’ Sawant adds that permits for sand extraction from the Chapora river will be granted soon, following a feasibility report submitted by the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) in accordance with High Court directions.
