The Fatorda police have taken action against an unidentified individual for impersonating Congress’ South Goa Lok Sabha candidate, Viriato Fernandes. The individual circulated doctored voice clips of Fernandes on a social media platform. Following a complaint lodged by Congress functionary Sunil Kawthanker, the Fatorda police initiated an investigation into the matter. Kawthanker highlighted that these manipulated voice clips were disseminated on a Facebook page during the peak of the Lok Sabha poll campaign, prompting the urgency for legal action against the perpetrator.
