Labour Minister Babush Monserrate informed the assembly on Wednesday that the Labour Act has been amended to increase fines for companies in Goa that advertise job posts outside the state. The previous fine of Rs 500 has been deemed too lenient and has now been increased to between Rs 10,000 and Rs 1 lakh, along with the possibility of imprisonment. Monserrate emphasized that the higher penalties aim to deter companies from violating this regulation.
