Goa Dairy’s Usgao Plant Faces Eight-Month Closure

Ten milk societies connected to Goa Dairy are proposing to restart the closed cattle feed plant in Usgao. The plant had to shut down because it was losing money, primarily due to an outstanding payment of Rs 13 crore for raw materials.

Ramesh Edathadan, the chairman of St Andre Milk Producers Co-op Society Ltd in Goa Velha, stated that the plant has been inactive for the past eight months. Now, these milk societies have submitted a plan to the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to take over and revive the plant, addressing the financial challenges it faced.
