The Goa government has substantially increased the fees for hosting beach weddings and events, now charging ₹1 lakh per day. This marks a significant jump from the previous fee structure, which was ₹1 lakh for up to five days, with an additional ₹10,000 per extra day. The revised “scrutiny fee” was notified by the Environment Department through the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA). The change aims to regulate and manage the growing demand for beachside events.
