Goa Govt Mandates Electric Vehicles under Rs 30 Lakh for Official Use

The Goa government has decided that all official vehicles must be electric and cost no more than Rs 30 lakh. The Department of Finance (Expenditure) issued an Office Memorandum on Wednesday, updating its guidelines for government departments, corporations, and autonomous bodies regarding the purchase of electric vehicles (EVs). One significant modification mandates the purchase of EVs for government use, aligning with the government’s commitment to promoting clean energy initiatives.

The Office Memorandum from the Department of Finance (Expenditure) also stipulates specific price ceilings for different officials.Chief Secretaries and Chairpersons of government-owned entities have a price cap of Rs 30 lakh, while Secretaries and Vice-Chairpersons have a limit of Rs 25 lakh.
