The Cabinet has given the green light for the relaunch of the Electric Vehicle (EV) subsidy scheme, encompassing a range of benefits for different vehicle categories.

Under this scheme, two-wheelers stand to receive incentives ranging from Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000, three-wheelers from Rs 8,000 to Rs 60,000, and four-wheelers from Rs 8,000 to Rs 1 lakh.

A notable inclusion in the scheme is the provision of incentives for individuals choosing to scrap or deregister their old vehicles. Those opting for this will receive benefits ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000.

It’s important to note that the scheme is applicable to vehicles purchased between 1st August 2022 and 31st December 2023, providing a specific timeframe for individuals to capitalize on these incentives.

The relaunch aims to drive the adoption of electric vehicles and encourage sustainable transportation practices across the specified vehicle categories.
