The Tourism Department has reissued the tender for cleaning 50 beach stretches in Goa over the next five years, with an expenditure of over Rs 90 crore. The selected agency will handle comprehensive beach cleaning services, including garbage collection, segregation, transportation, and disposal. Cleaning will be performed daily from 6 am to 12 noon and 4 pm to 8 pm, involving scientific planning and the use of labor, machinery, and supervisory staff. The tasks include collecting various types of waste such as plastic, paper, food scraps, fish carcasses, and sea vegetation.
