The High Court of Bombay at Goa has issued an order instructing the Directorate of Mines and Geology (DoMG) and the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) not to issue fresh permits for ore transportation through villages until further notice.
The court has expressed dissatisfaction with the DoMG and GSPCB, criticizing them for not applying due consideration in granting ore transportation permits, particularly through Mayem village.
The court session has been adjourned until February 20. Additionally, the transporter has informed the court of their intention to conduct 50 trips per day, Monday to Saturday, within specified time slots from 10 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm.
