President Droupadi Murmu highlighted India’s economic transformation over the past decade, shifting from the “fragile five” to a “top five” global economy.
During her inaugural address to a joint sitting of the two Houses in the new Parliament building, she discussed various economic aspects and celebrated the success of ‘Made in India’ as a global brand.
Murmu expressed confidence that the new Parliament building would facilitate productive dialogues on policies to propel India towards becoming a ‘Viksit Bharat’ in the post-independence era.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to present the Interim Budget 2024 on February 1, serving as a vote-on-account due to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024, with a full-fledged budget expected post-elections.
