Mandrem Sarpanch, Amit Sawant, has initiated a hunger strike as a protest against not being invited to the inauguration of the Mandrem police station. His grievance also includes the omission of his name from the inauguration plaque.
Sawant has resorted to a fast-unto-death to highlight his dissatisfaction with the perceived exclusion from the event and acknowledgment.
