Tragedy struck in Mumbai as a billboard collapsed during a fierce storm, claiming the lives of fourteen people and injuring at least sixty others. The structure, located opposite a fuel station, crashed down amid the refueling facility, causing chaos and devastation.

Preliminary investigations are underway to determine if the billboard advertisement agency had proper permission to install the structure. The metal frame of the billboard pierced through the roofs of several cars at the fuel station, compounding the impact of the disaster.

The police have deployed teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to search for survivors trapped under the collapsed billboard in Mumbai. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated that rescuing people is the primary focus, promising government support for the treatment of the injured. He announced Rs 5 lakh compensation for the families of the deceased and ordered inspections of all similar billboards in Mumbai to prevent future accidents.
