Narendra Modi will take oath as the Prime Minister for the third consecutive time on Sunday evening. Initially, sources had indicated the ceremony would occur on Saturday.
Modi was chosen as the head of the NDA on Wednesday, paving the way for his third term, making him only the second Indian to achieve this milestone after Jawaharlal Nehru.
The oath-taking ceremony will see the presence of several South Asian leaders. Confirmed attendees include Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina and Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe. Invitations have also been extended to Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, and Mauritius PM Pravind Jugnauth.
