An 80-year-old woman named Indira Halarnkar is going through a tough time. Her daughter-in-law allegedly claimed that she was dead, and grabbed her house. Indira has been trying for nine years to prove she is alive and get her house back.
Locals in Baina have stepped out in order to support her. They want her to be officially recognized as alive, have her name back on the voters’ list, and get her house returned.
The locals are threatening to protest against the Mormugao civic body if things don’t change.
