Pandit Laxmikant Dixit, Leader of Ram Lalla Idol Consecration, Dies at 86

Pandit Laxmikant Mathuranath Dixit, a revered Vedic scholar from Varanasi, passed away on Saturday at the age of 86, at 6:45 am. Dixit was well-known for his deep devotion to the Hindu community and his leadership in Vedic ritualism. He notably led a team of 121 scholars from all Vedic branches in the consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Dixit was also a descendant of the distinguished 17th-century Kashi scholar Gaga Bhatt, who presided over the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1674. His profound contributions to Vedic scholarship and Hindu rituals have left an indelible mark on the community.
