Porvorim police arrested Narendra Gavade (25), a native of Belagavi, for allegedly stealing energy meters worth ₹7,000 from the sub-division premises of the electricity department in Porvorim. The police also recovered the stolen meters and a two-wheeler, suspected to be stolen, from the accused. The arrest followed a complaint lodged by an official from the electricity department, who reported the theft that occurred before September 23.
