A woman from Porvorim was duped of Rs 2.71 lakh after being convinced to invest in the stock market. Between January 17 and February 8, two individuals, Azim Singh and Manali Shah, posing as professors from an online institute, advised her to trade and buy shares in the Indian stock market.
They instructed her to download an app and deposit Rs 2.71 lakh into an account. When she was unable to trade or withdraw her money, she realized the fraud and filed a complaint with the Porvorim police. The two accused have been booked in connection with the scam.
