At a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, President Droupadi Murmu bestowed the prestigious Padma Shri award upon Sanjay Anant Patil, a pioneering farmer from Savoi-Verem, Ponda. Patil, aged 58, has been recognized for his innovative agricultural practices.
His accolades include the 2013 Goa Krishi Ratna Award, the Best Horticulturalist Award from Goa Bagayatdar in 2015, and the IARI-Innovative Farmer Award 2023 from the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. Notably, Patil also received the Goa State Biodiversity Board Conservation Award in 2023 for his remarkable contributions to natural farming and the development of a zero-energy micro-irrigation system.
