Rahul Gandhi Calls for Probe into June 4 Stock Market Crash, Questions Timing of Modi and Shah's Advice to Investors

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has called for an investigation into the June 4 stock market crash, questioning the timing of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah’s advice to Indian investors ahead of the Lok Sabha election verdict.

At a press conference, Gandhi noted that this was the first time during elections that PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made comments on the stock markets. “The PM told the country three-four times that the stock market is going to skyrocket. The Home Minister directly said that the stock market will skyrocket on June 4, and people should buy. The same message was given by the FM,” he recalled.

Gandhi explained the sequence of events, stating that the BJP’s internal survey projected 220 seats for them. “Intel agencies had informed the government they would get 200-220 seats. The stock market broke all records on June 3, and on June 4, the stock market plummeted,” Gandhi stated.
