A speeding heavy vehicle on National Highway 66 along the Parrikar bypass at Canacona ran into seven buffaloes squatting on the road, killing them instantly on Thursday night.
The incident occurred after 9 PM, and the Canacona Municipal Council removed and buried the carcasses the next morning. No one has claimed ownership of the buffaloes, and the police have not registered any case yet. “We are waiting for the owner to come forward and lodge a complaint,” said the police.
