The idol of Lord Ram Lalla, sculpted by Mysuru-based artist Arun Yogiraj, has been placed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple.

The first pictures of the idol have surfaced on social media, depicting Lord Ram in his sacred child form. The new idol, portraying the deity as a five-year-old boy in a standing posture, was positioned at its ‘Aasan’ in the ‘Garbhagriha’ on January 18.

Currently covered with a veil, the unveiling is expected to take place during the grand consecration ceremony scheduled for January 22. The photographs were shared by Sharad Sharma, the media in-charge of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
