At Mopa Airport, two taxi drivers, Siddhesh Narulkar and Samil Mahale, have been charged by Mopa Police for obstructing and assaulting Police Sub-Inspector Swapnil Kinalkar. The incident occurred when the officers, performing their duties, instructed the drivers to move from the airport entrance. The drivers, frustrated by the action taken against touts, verbally abused and physically assaulted the officers. During the altercation, the officer’s nameplate was lost. Following the incident, the drivers have been detained under various sections of the Indian Penal Code related to obstruction and assault of duty officers.
