The upcoming session of the Parliament, known as the Budget Session, is scheduled to commence from January 31 and will extend until February 9. During the first day of the session on January 31, President Droupadi Murmu is set to address the Parliament. On the same day, the economic survey will also be presented.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to table the interim budget on February 1. It’s worth noting that, due to the general elections slated for the same year, Sitharaman is likely to present an interim budget rather than a full-fledged one. An interim budget typically covers the financial requirements of the government for a short period until the new government can present a complete budget after the elections. This process allows for the continuation of essential government functions and financial operations during the transitional period.
