Union Minister Shantanu Thakur, addressing a public rally in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, made a claim that the Citizenship (Amendment) Act or CAA would be implemented across the entire country within the next seven days.

Shantanu Thakur, who is the BJP’s Lok Sabha MP from Bangaon, stated that, following the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the implementation of CAA is imminent.

The controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Act, introduced by the Narendra Modi government, aims to grant Indian nationality to persecuted non-Muslim migrants, including Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis, and Christians, from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan who arrived in India on or before December 31, 2014.

Thakur’s statement suggests a strong commitment to the swift implementation of CAA not only in West Bengal but across all states in India.

However, the actual timeline and logistics of such implementation remain subject to government decisions and processes.
