The Goa government, following directions from the Centre, plans to equip all public service vehicles with vehicle location tracking (VLT) devices and emergency buttons to enhance women’s safety. Vehicles registered after January 1, 2019, will require these devices, with responsibility on the owners. This initiative is part of the Nirbhaya Framework launched in 2020.
