Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao has raised serious allegations against Drishti lifeguard services, calling it a major scam. Alemao criticized the company for purportedly lacking essential equipment and vehicles, despite consistently winning annual contracts. He pointed out that despite significant expenditures, Goa has witnessed 56 deaths.
In response, Tourism Minister defended the lifeguard services, attributing the deaths to incidents occurring between 7 PM and 7 AM, times when lifeguards are not on duty. Alemao’s demand for a judicial inquiry underscores growing scrutiny over Goa’s lifeguarding practices.
