The demand for equal status to Romi Konkani has grown further, with 18 more Gramsabhas unanimously passing resolutions to this effect today. A total of 33 Gramsabhas have now passed resolutions demanding that Konkani in the Romi script be given equal status alongside Konkani in the Devanagari script in the state’s Official Language Act.
