The Congress Party is urging the government to act on a Private Member Resolution passed unanimously by the Goa Legislative Assembly on January 29, 2021. The resolution, moved by then Congress MLA and Leader of Opposition, called for naming one of the stands at Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, in honor of former Sports Minister Francisco Monte Cruz. Despite its passage, the resolution has yet to be implemented.
