The Goa Children’s Court in Panjim sentenced a government employee to one year in prison and fined him Rs one lakh for raping a minor girl. Judge Sayonora Telles Laad found the accused guilty under various IPC sections and the Goa Children’s Act.
The case, chargesheeted by Old Goa Police in 2018, involved incidents from 2013 to 2018 where the accused showed pornographic videos and sexually assaulted the victim. The investigation was led by PSI Vijaynath Kavlekar. Advocates Anup Kudtarkar and S. Khot defended the accused, while public prosecutors Francisca Noronha and T. Narvekar represented the State.
