Chief Minister Pramod Sawant informed the Goa Legislative Assembly that the number of psychological counsellors in various state schools would increase from 96 to 175. Responding to a question from Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar, Sawant stated that 66 counsellors and 16 supervisors have been appointed in 198 high schools and 61 higher secondary schools for the 2024-2025 academic year. Additionally, 50 counsellors have been appointed in colleges for the same academic year.
