In the Mapusa midnight incident, where three men allegedly opened fire on Shailesh Garad, SP North Akshay Kaushal clarified that the weapon used was not a firearm but a “sports gun.” The accused reportedly used it in a panic to create a firing sound. SP Kaushal also mentioned that Garad, who has a criminal background, was involved in an altercation with the men, who had come to participate in a shooting competition. Both parties have been called to the police station, and legal action is being taken.
