On Thursday, the central government informed the Supreme Court that 1,563 NEET-UG 2024 candidates, who received grace marks, can opt for a re-test scheduled for June 23. The government emphasized the need to decide on cancelling the scorecards of these students who benefited from grace marks. The Supreme Court reiterated today that it would not halt the counselling process.

The Supreme Court affirmed that NEET-UG counselling will proceed without interruption, stating, “If the exam proceeds, everything goes in totality so there is nothing to fear.” This follows a plea alleging malpractices during the May 5 exam, including multiple paper leaks, which were argued to violate constitutional rights. The court’s decision aligns with the central government’s move to cancel grace marks for 1,563 students and offer them a re-test option on June 23.
