The River Navigation Department has invited bids for leasing the Rs 4 crore Solar Electric boat, St. Pedro (PNJ-880), for tourism or commercial purposes. The boat, initially intended for Panaji-Chorao rides, failed to generate revenue and developed operational glitches. Bids are open to eligible bidders, shipyards, boat builders, and cruise boat operators for a 5-year lease to operate on the Mandovi, Chapora, and Zuari rivers.
