Kishna Ram, a goods carrier truck driver, was found guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol by the JMFC Mapusa. He was sentenced to five days of simple imprisonment and fined Rs 10,000. Failure to pay the fine will result in an additional 10 days of imprisonment. Ram was apprehended by the Porvorim Traffic Cell near Teen Building Junction on August 28 at 11:23 pm for erratic driving. He showed clear signs of intoxication, including a strong alcohol smell, slurred speech, and unsteady behavior. A breathalyser test revealed an alcohol concentration of 409.3 mg/100 ml, significantly above the legal limit.
